Ogu/Bolo Council, West African Terminal Deepen Partnership on Community Development

 

The Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka, DSSRS, JP, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that will accelerate development and improve the quality of life of residents across the local government area.

The Chairman gave the assurance on Thursday while receiving the Community Relations Manager of West African Terminal (WAT), Mr. Justin Okwuofu, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat.

Mr. Okwuofu congratulated Chief Nemieboka on his emergence as Executive Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Council and expressed WAT’s readiness to sustain its cordial relationship with the Council in pursuit of shared development goals.

Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the local government and West African Terminal, with both parties exploring areas of mutual interest aimed at promoting sustainable community development, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and improving the welfare of the people of Ogu/Bolo.

Chief Nemieboka welcomed the delegation and commended West African Terminal for its commitment to maintaining constructive relations with its host communities. He stressed that his administration remains open to partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to the people, noting that collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential for sustainable growth and development.

Present at the meeting were the Ogu Community Liaison Officer of WAT, Mr. Adolphus Dasetima; the Council Secretary, Hon. Friday Tiene; the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA); the Head of Personnel Management (HPM); the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Dr. Daniel Achori; and the President of the Ogu Youth Congress (OYC), Comrade Cosmic Ibiebele.
