An interfaith council bringing together Christian clergy and traditional religious leaders launched a peace walk through the community ahead of the upcoming election season, calling for calm and civic responsibility.
The walk, which drew several hundred participants, ended with a joint prayer session at the town square attended by candidates from three political parties.
'Whatever our different beliefs, we agree on one thing: this community cannot afford to burn over an election,' said council convener Reverend Dise Amachree.
